Hello, Art Lovers and Enthusiasts, I am Philma, and I am thrilled to welcome you to my artistic haven. My life’s canvas is enriched with love, having shared 34 wonderful years with my husband, Lieben. Together, we are the proud parents of two incredible individuals: our son Lieben Jr. 31, and our daughter Kayla, 23.
Before my foray into the captivating world of art, I spent 20 years navigating the intense and demanding banking sector. Realizing the need for a change, I made a conscious decision to seek a more balanced life. My next endeavors led me to Exhibition Management and Optometry, where I found the flexibility to focus on my family and my mental health.
In 2015, a new chapter began. Lieben gifted me an experience that would alter the course of my life: an art class at Art Space, mentored by the talented Gail Baxter. There, I discovered the exhilarating world of oil painting. Gail’s insightful guidance and the camaraderie amongst passionate artists at Art Space over seven years, became the catalysts for my artistic awakening.
My style is characterized by the use of vivid colors and the translation of unique, sometimes unconventional, ideas onto canvas. The process of creating art is deeply personal and allows me to share a piece of myself with the world. I’m delighted to share that I currently reside in the stunning city of Cape Town, a place that continually inspires my creativity.
